What's Up! China : Day 4

Its been a long time coming but its here now..

Eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh 2NE1..

Ok I'm kidding.. Day 4 starts now..

We started Day 4 badly.. The highway was closed due to severe haze.. You can barely see the brake lights from the car that's just 6 feet in front of you.. So our master driver took the old road which is a lot lower than the HIGH way (lol get it? HIGHway..) so it wasnt affected by the haze.. It also meant that our one hour journey was extended to a little more than that..

We arrived safely at this place where some king used to bury his horses and carriages.. Another Terracotta Army kind of thing only this time it involves real corpses.. It was pretty eerie looking at all those bones and us being the only people there at the time.. But again it showed me that the Chinese can really do anything.. LOL..

We then stopped by some random underground home.. YES, underground.. Its said that this family dug down and build their home frm there.. It was pretty cool not needing to use foundations and all.. The original owner is now over a hundred years old and she wasnt around at that time.. She went marketing.. LOL.. Her grandsons decided to move next door which is on level ground.. Their refrigerator is awesome.. Its like a manhole with food storage in a basement like place below the house.. Apparently that was enough to keep the food from getting nasty..

Next stop for us was the Guan Gong temple.. I dont think many of you will know who he is but he's pretty famous among Buddhists I guess.. This place is where his head was buried at.. Yes JUST the head.. There a long story to it.. And no he's not some deity that some could doubt his existence.. He was an actual man long long long ago.. Somewhere along the three places we had lunch.. I forgot.. haha..

Our last stop for the day was the Long Men Grottoes.. Long Men as in Dragon Gate NOT long dudes.. Its pretty awesome and its also a UNESCO World Heritage site.. Its actually carvings of Buddha and other deities on the face of the mountain.. Those Chinese really had too much time.. Its an amazing sight when you get there because the size of it is just huge.. and that's the main ones.. There are smaller ones on the way.. There was a monastery looking place on the other side of the river sitting on another hill which i was itching to go to but unfortunately that wasnt on the itinerary..

Dinner that night was pretty good.. I ate so much I swore I was gonna explode.. We checked into yet another hotel after that.. This one was rated 5-stars.. It had a space theme.. Pretty out of the ordinary..

Day 5 : Coming Soon...
