Well this morning Mabel, Cat, Chris, and myself went for tennis at BJCC.. It was fun/hot/tiring/fun and fun.. Its been awhile since I played tennis but I guess it wasnt that bad..

After dropping Cat back I headed home and got myself ready for the movie marathon that never was.. Picked up May and Mabel then it was off to Queensbay.. Not the initial plan but oh well right?

Had lunch at Kim Gary and checked out new caps for myself..

Watched A Christmas Carol because there were no more tickets for New Moon and 2012.. Personally that movie was no Disney family movie.. It had that creepy feel that even I was afraid of.. Its not a bad movie but not exactly very child friendly..

Brian is gonna freak when he finds out I listened to Jay-Z.. I've not been one of those Jay-Z fans.. But this song Empire State of Mind really caught my attention.. I first heard the song when Jay-Z performed it at the MTV Europe Music Awards.. Its a pretty good song and according to this YouTube video that I'm about to post, it features Alicia Keys.. Even better!

SHINee performed on SBS Inkigayo without Taemin again.. This time the boys from SM performed a remixed version of Ring Ding Dong.. Well its pretty much just the same thing with an added dance at the beginning.. Its nice to see something fresh on stage..

I know I'm probably the last person on the planet to watch The Proposal but I've watched it twice in two days.. LOL.. I've never really been a huge fan of Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock but this show has got to be one of the best I've seen in the year..

Now one part of the show got me rewinding it over and over again.. Its the part where Margaret (Sandra Bullock) rides a bicycle into the woods and finds Gammy chanting and doing a tribal dance.. She joins in and when it was her turn to chant she started singing to Lil John's Get Low.. Absolute genius..!!

Their latest stage performance was at MBC Music Core but Taemin was missing.. Yes the dreaded swine flu hit the youngest member of SHINee this time.. When will it ever stop..

Charity + Dance

Went to a charity dance event held by Lion's Club with Mabel, her mum, and Viki last night.. It was pretty awesome if you ignore the boring speeches that were in mandarin and I couldnt understand shit.. Anyway I wasnt there for the speeches.. Yi Wen was performing so we went to support her.. She had like an army of fans behind us so yea I think the support part was covered.. LOL..

My recent interest in Kpop also made me more interested in dance although I cant do it.. I do enjoy a good showcase though.. To summarize, it was a good night.. =)

Jerejak

Went to Jerejak with Mabel and Maylyn, or Mabelyn as they call themselves, last Wednesday.. It was quite fun although we only spent half a day there thanks to two human beings..

Anyway we did stuff like archery, wall climbing, firefox, swim, and stuff.. Archery was pretty tough because I didnt expect it to be so physical.. I did get a few shots on the board so its alright.. Wall climbing was fun.. I had a great time laughing at the two M's from below that I got cocky when it was my turn.. Turns out it wasnt as easy as I thought it was.. Still managed to reach the top in what I think was the day's fastest time.. LOL.. We kinda skipped the jungle trekking and biking because of the "wonderful" weather.. Other than that we swam, played congkak, ate and yup that's pretty much it..

Jerejak people thought the 3 of us were Japanese tourists.. Not something new to Mabel but for Maylyn and myself yea its pretty much new.. haha..

The whole "where to go for further studies" and "what to major" issue is really giving me headaches..

I mean its not like I dont know what I wanna do but there's always this doubt and fear of what's to come.. I've narrowed down the things I wanna do to a short list..

So far this is the biggest issue.. Another issue I face would be one that some of you might say is insignificant and unnecessary.. Forgive my lousy vocabulary....or grammar.. GAH!! Anyway, my handphones are known to die within a year of purchase.. The current one doesnt disappoint.. I bought it back in April during my birthday and its already showing signs of dying.. I completely killed my chances of getting mum's iPhone for now because I tried to be smart and now the phone has to be re-cracked.. Nice move Ivan.. Good news is that mum is looking and I stress on the LOOKING at the new Samsung Omnia II.. So hopefully she gets it then iPhone will be mine to purchase.. Yes PURCHASE..

It's been awhile since I had a full length post on personal stuff so yea bear with me for a little.. I'm sure alot of you are glad its not some Korean mumbo-jumbo..

I'm going to China for a family vacation on the 5th of December so yea I'm really looking forward to that.. Although I still pray dad would just get me that new camera so that I can use it in China..

SUKPEN is this Thursday and I can honestly say I'm in absolutely no shape at all to compete.. As usual the Butterworth dudes are playing so I'm not really expecting much from this.. just playing to stay active.. I've been a bigger slug this past two weeks than I've ever been in the past 4 years added up..

I keep telling myself I wanna go to the gym but there's always something up.. Either I got ditched and feel too lazy to go alone or I just dont wanna go..

I did something very stupid last night.. I had the top half of my body on the bed last night and wanted to reach for something but I was too lazy to get up and move so I just dragged my body forward.. This act of pure genius had only one consequence, my knee hit the corner of my bed as I was moving forward.. And yes it hurt.. REAL BAD.. I had to stay still for a good 10 minutes just to let the pain ease off.. Smart move eh? I'm just so full of this shit.. I told my family about it before dinner just now and then I started laughing at myself for no reason..

I love 2PM.. I really do..

Newly crowned Artiste of the Year and Male Group of the Year 2PM took the stage at the MAMAs with nothing but 200% effort..

The JaeBeom-less group took the stage performing their latest single, Heartbeat.. What's special about this performance is that their boss, JYP took the stage as well and personally conducted the orchestra.. With the final Heartbeat and the dead tone to end the song, 2PM came back alive as ever........to perform Again & Again....again..

This is interesting though.. 2PM, known for sending hidden messages since their leader JaeBeom's departure, did the same for this performance.. They have performed this song as a 6-man group before shortly after JaeBeom's departure.. This time, they left JaeBeom's part blank.. They left it empty where their leader should have been if he had been there.. Perhaps a message to JaeBeom and JYP..?? This performance was only a short version though..

So while most of Korea had their eyes on the MAMA Awards, SHINee was on MBC Music Core to perform Ring Ding Dong.. I really needed this because they went missing on Music Bank and Onew just recovered from swine flu..

GD took the stage with fellow Big Bang member TaeYang to perform the banned song Korean Dream.. GD sporting a new hairdo and TaeYang being TaeYang wowed the crowd.. As far as I know, Korean Dream has never been performed before LIVE.. Well now it has and what better occasion to do it..

I dont know if its because of the song but I noticed Narsha (BEG) and MinJi (2NE1) shedding tears as they watched TaeYang perform that song.. Wedding Dress is a sad song after all..

Brown Eyed KARA Girls..??

I'd never thought this day would come but the most unlikely pairing of Brown Eyed Girls and KARA took the stage at the recent MNet MAMA Awards..

Brown Eyed Girls performed a slow version of Sign with an orchestra playing their music instead of their usual techno stuff.. KARA performed Honey but this version features a Korean rock band whose name I dont remember..

Big Bang's TaeYang is making his mark as a solo artiste.. Looking at G-Dragon's success I'm sure YG would have no second thoughts about throwing TaeYang into the mix.. After all to me he's like the Asian version of Chris Brown/Ne-Yo.. Looks hip-hop but sings awesome songs.. But TaeYang's better than Chris Brown..

Anyway Wedding Dress is his first single of his latest album Wedding Dress.. The song is about losing the one he loves to someone else.. Sad thing is that when he wanted to propose in the video, the other dude beat him to it just seconds before.. The man already had the ring ready and now he's playing at his friend's wedding wishing it was him standing next to her..

I feel its about time I update my post on Girls' Generation / SNSD / 소녀시대..


I mean its been like 3 months or so since I first heard of them and my interest has increased drastically since.. So yes, I feel a new post is relevant.. Plus I'm just trying to up my number of posts..

So where do I start? Well 소녀시대 (So Nyeo Si Dae), or better known as SNSD and Girls' Generation, is a 9 member girl group from South Korea.. Formed under SM Entertainment (Super Junior, SHINee, f(X), BoA, Kangta, Nadia), the girls made their debut back in 2007 with their first single, Into The New World.. The members of the group in order of official announcement are YoonA, Tiffany, Yuri, HyoYeon, SooYoung, SeoHyun, TaeYeon, Jessica, and Sunny..

Im YoonA was the first member of the group to be officially annouced.. She joined SM through the 2002 SM Saturday Open Casting Audition.. YoonA was trained as a singer, dancer, actress, and also a model.. She was featured in various MVs and also took part in many ad campaigns.. Her acting debut came in 2007, playing a minor role in the drama series 9 Ends 2 Outs.. She also co-starred as the lead in You Are My Destiny and Cinderella Man.. Some of her MV appearances are Super Junior's U and Marry U, DBSK's Magic Castle, and Lee Seung-Chul's Propose..

~Tiffany 티파니~

Stephanie Hwang Mi-Young was born in California and was raised in the USA before being discovered in the SM Starlight Casting System 2004 in LA.. She changed her name to Tiffany to avoid being confused with another Korean celebrity with the same name.. Tiffany is one of the lead vocalists for the group and has recorded songs outside the group before.. She sang a duet with K.Will titled A Girl Meets Love.. She also went solo for Ja Myung Go's OST, By Myself.. Tiffany currently hosts MBC Music Core alongside fellow member Yuri..

~Yuri 유리~

Kwon Yuri is known as the Black Pearl of the group and if I'm not mistaken, that title was self declared.. LOL.. Yuri is also one with many talents.. She appeared in various MVs such as DBSK's Beautiful Life, K.Will's Dropping The Tears, and also in the MV for 짜라자짜 which is a song by Joo Hyun-Mi and fellow member SeoHyun.. Alongside fellow member SooYoung, Yuri played a part in the sitcom Unstoppable Marriage and recorded the OST for the movie Working Mom, 꼭.. She is one of the lead dancers for the group alongside HyoYeon.. Yuri co-hosts MBC Music Core with Tiffany.. She is currently taking part in a reality show called Invincible Youth with fellow member Sunny as G7 (7 girls from different idol groups)..

~HyoYeon 효연~

Kim HyoYeon joined SM through the 2000 SM Casting System and was awarded Best SM Trainee Dancer.. Being the lead dancer for the group, HyoYeon brings life to the group with her moves.. HyoYeon also performed as fellow label mate BoA's silhouette during the dance break for the song Over The Top at the 2005 MKMF Awards.. She attended a hip-hop dance school that specializes in waving, popping, locking, and animation.. During her trainee days, HyoYeon traveled to Beijing, China with fellow label mate SiWon (Super Junior) to learn Mandarin and more about Chinese culture..

Choi SooYoung was formerly a member of a two-girl group in Japan called Route φ before auditioning for SM.. Because of her experience in Japan, she also speaks fluent Japanese.. She acted in the sitcom Unstoppable Marriage alongside fellow member Yuri and was also in the movie Hello Schoolgirl with fellow label mate Kangin (Super Junior).. Besides being the tallest member in the group, SooYoung is also known to eat alot..

Seo Joo Hyun is the 맠내 or youngest in the group.. She joined SM through the 2003 SM Casting System.. SeoHyun is one of the lead vocalists in the group and is capable of singing ballads.. Kim Tae Yeon is the group's leader.. She's also known as the Kid Leader because of her size.. TaeYeon is the oldest member in the group and she is one of the main vocalists alongside Jessica.. She attended the SM Academy and won Best Singer in the 8th Annual Best Contest in 2004.. She is currently a DJ for Chin Chin Radio.. TaeYeon has also recorded solo singles such as If (KBS drama Hong Gil Dong OST) and Can You Hear Me (MBC drama Beethoven Virus OST).. She recently recorded a duet with fellow member Sunny called I'm Only In Love (MBC drama Heading To The Ground OST)..

~Jessica 제시카~

Jessica Jung is also another American born.. Just like Tiffany, Jessica was born in California.. She's the main vocalist for the group alongside TaeYeon.. The Ice Princess is known for her infamous Sica-Effect (The ability to silence whole room with whatever she says no matter what the mood was.. Kind of like a mood killer.. lol).. Jessica made an appearance in Kim Jo-Han's Love Is Late, I'm Sorry MV.. She also featured in 8Eight's song I Love You.. She recently appeared in Super Junior-M's MV for Super Girl.. The Ice Princess also had her fair share of duets with fellow label mate Onew (SHINee) and Park Myeong-Su (Infinity Challenge TV Show).. The song with Onew was called One Year Later and is on the group's 2nd mini-album, Tell Me Your Wish (Genie), and the song with Park Myeong-Su is 냉면.. She is currently playing the lead role in the Korean production of Legally Blond as Elle Woods.. Jessica's younger sister and label mate, Krystal is currently in the rookie girl group f(X)..

~Sunny 써니~

Lee Sun-Kyu or better known as Sunny was the last member to join SNSD.. She joined SM through the 2007 SM Casting System.. Sunny originally trained under another company but transferred to SM a few months prior to SNSD's debut.. She is also the niece of SM Entertainment's founder, Lee Soo Man.. Sunny appeared in Super Junior-H's MV for Cooking? Cooking!.. She also sang the song Finally Now from the soundtrack for the movie Story of Wine.. Sunny co-hosts a music show called The M with SS501's HyungJoon.. Sunny is currently part of G7 in the reality show Invincible Youth.. The show includes the likes of fellow memberi, Yuri, HyunA (4Minute), Goo Hara (KARA), Narsha (Brown Eyed Girls), HyoMin (T-ara), Han SunHwa (Secret)..



All 9 girls were professionally trained in singing and dancing with a select few being trained for acting and modeling as well.. Talk about versatility eh? The group was originally planned to be named Super Girl, being the female version of their fellow label mates Super Junior..


MNet had a short series called Girls Go To School which documents SNSD's journey prior to their debut.. It increased interest from the public and also showed everyone how the girls prepare for their big debut..


SNSD has four albums, two of them being mini-albums.. Their debut album was named after their first single Into The New World.. The other tracks are Beginning, Perfect For You (Honey), and an instrumental version of Into The New World..

Their second album was self titled, Girls' Generation.. This wase their first actual full album.. The song Girls' Generation is a cover of Lee Seung-Chul's song and was the song used to promote the album.. Their third single Baby Baby was the song used to promote the re-packaged album.. The album contains a track that features fellow label mate Kangta..

Tiffany, Jessica, and SeoHyun recorded a track titled 오빠 나빠 which in literal translation means bad brother but it is a song about an older guy.. The track was released digitally and also had a music video.. There was also another track recorded by the trio called It's Fantastic!..

SNSD's first mini-album was titled Gee.. Their first single, Gee hit the top spot on all digital music charts within the first two days of its release.. The mini-album was released in January 2009.. Gee is the record holder for the longest-running #1 on music portal MNet (8 weeks), surpassing the previous record of 6 weeks set by the Wonder Girls' Nobody.. They also broke the record on KBS Music Bank by being #1 for 9 consecutive weeks, previously set by Jewelry's One More Time, which had 7 wins.. They won the award for best-selling song for the first half 2009 for Gee.. Promotions for the song ended at the end of March.. Other tracks on the album include Way To Go!, Dear Mom, Destiny, and Lets Talk About Love..
